My fiance wanted tungsten because it is damn near scratch proof and so far it has lived up to that description. This ring looks VERY nice and is a good width for a man. My fiance is a big guy with big hands, and I was worried that 6mm would look too feminine but it doesnt. The black is more like a real dark gray/charcoal, which looks very elegant (for a guy) and not so much gothic. I am very happy with this ring and so is my fiance (he liked it so much he couldnt wait to wear it lol). It can only be scratched or cut by diamonds, high pressured water, or certain types of ceramic (i.e. not pottery) so unless your man works around these, this ring will be safe and continue to look as new as the day he put it on. ~Jane Smith
